Nova double-twisted PVC-coated gabion boxes are manufactured from metallic-coated steel wire (zinc-coated or Zn-5A1-MM-coated ) with an additional PVC coating extruded onto the metallic-coated steel wire.
The PVC layer provides extra protection to the metal gabion boxes for embankment protection.

The PVC polymer coating is extruded over either zinc or galfan wire utilized in the manufacturing of gabions. The PVC coating meets the following requirements:
The coating must be at least 0.5 mm thick and must never be less than 0.4 mm
thick and be able to withstand the damaging effects of exposure to the elements
and saltwater immersion.
• Maximum specific gravity 1.5 g/m3, according to ISO 1183-1 : 2004.
• Minimum durometer Hardness (Shore D) 38, according to ISO 868 : 2003.
• Minimum tensile strength 17 MPa, according to ISO 527-2: 1993.
• Minimum elongation 200%, according to ISO 527-2 : 1993.
The PVC coating shall be in grey or dark green color.
